NITISH KUMAR - MAN OF THE YEAR: Seldom has Indian politics seen a leader who was elected back to power solely on the basis of his performance. Kudos to Nitish Kumar for turning around the jungle raj of Bihar in just 5 years. I wish more of our leaders would emulate him.

JOHN PIPER'S LEAVE REPORT: When John Piper took a 8 month leave of absence from Bethlehem Church, there was much appreciation for his action. Of course, some cynics said it was just so he could write another book! Well, he's back and here is the report on his time away. It speaks for the man's humility how open and frank he is about his life. Something to learn from in this individualistic and secretive world

400 YEARS OF THE KJV: 2011 marks the 400th anniversary of the King James Version and this article gives a good review of the origins and the impact of this monumental work.

TALITHA PIPER: I came across this interview with John Piper's adopted daughter and also his wife, Noel Piper's writing on the adoptive process (follow the link on the bottom of the page to go to the next part).

AMERICAN STATS ON ABORTION: I guess abortion is at the other end of the spectrum from adoption. This infographic gives some recent stats on American abortion. I guess it would be impossible to have stats like this in India. Just last week, I overheard a doctor in our hospital saying matter-of-factly that he had done one for a married lady for failed contraception.... And no records or anything..... And of course, in our country, an abortion is most often done for one single congenital defect - the absence of a Y chormosome. (HT: BibChrist)
